Dearly Beloved

Dearly Beloved is a lifelong photographic project that captures the quiet, fleeting moments of human existence, reflecting on the inevitability of change, aging, and the passage of time. Initially conceived during my graduate studies and originally titled Decay Constant, the series has since grown to include new players in my life, most notably my children. Through these images, I seek to hold space for the universal experiences of love, loss, and impermanence—a space where memory and emotion intertwine.

This body of work is grounded in the belief that photography can both preserve and distort memory. While the act of making these photographs began as a means of confronting my own fear of loss, it has become a deeply meditative practice—a way to honor the present while reckoning with the transient nature of life.

As I have aged, so has this project, and it serves as evolving archive of my life and part of the lives of those I hold dear. Each image is a testament to the ways we change and the ways we remain. Dearly Beloved invites viewers to reflect on their own journeys through time, love, and memory.
